Building Management, Lighting Control Systems

knx logoKNX The world's only open standard for intelligent buildings (ISO/IEC 14543-3), KNX has been in existence for more than twenty years and offers an array of over 10000 KNX Association-approved products manufactured by around 300 suppliers.

This means that the system integrator can design an

installation to meet the needs of the building and the end-user and is not confined to a single proprietary system.

Using technology with an easy-to-operate user interface, KNX intelligent systems offer simple visualisation, monitoring and control, creating buildings that are both comfortable and energy efficient.

    CRESTRON

A Crestron Control System is used  to simplify operation and provide a single user interface to operate multiple devices and interface with other control systems such as KNX, BACNET, CCTV, Intruder/fire alarms.  A typical situation may be Crestron digital media controlling Audio visual and TV/Satellite but also interfacing with the KNX lighting control system and BACNET controlled heating system all from one single point of control, whilst also monitoring the security installations from the same touch screen.

In addition it could also be configured to set the lighting levels and close electric blinds where the appropriate interfaces are included within the system.

DALI (digital addressable lighting interface) is a two-way communication system that brings digital technology to Lighting Controls. An international standard for communication, Dali lighting controls defines the commands that ballasts need to recognize in order to be considered DALI ballasts.

The system allows individual ballasts to "talk" to the user ... and allows the user to "talk" back via DALI controllers, computers equipped with appropriate software, or building management systems (BMS).

DALI provides simplified communication and installation, yet maximum control and flexibility. Wiring is simpler. Installation costs are lower. What's more, it allows architects and designers to create high-performance lighting that is perfectly matched to the needs of the building's occupants.

Loxone smart home controls monitors and responds automatically to light levels, temperature settings, weather conditions, security breaches, burst water pipes etc. It knows what to do, without you having to lift a finger.

Turn any combination of lights into mood lighting. At the touch of a button you can create the perfect atmosphere by turning on certain lights and dimming them to the perfect level. You can even choose different colours for different scenes. Control and Heat Rooms independently.

Individual room control allows you to dictate specific temperatures in different rooms. So we want the bedroom cooler, warmer in the living room and the bathroom should be heated only in the morning and evening. With Loxone no problem.
