Stephen Kerr BSc, IDES Technical Director
Stephen has had a lifelong passion for movies, music and technology, an interest that began in his teenage years running high school discos and experimenting with home and car hi-fi systems.
He went on to earn a degree in Electronic Engineering, followed by seven years of industrial experience with a leading Japanese microchip manufacturer. When the collapse of Scotland’s Silicon Glen shifted the tech landscape, Stephen pivoted into what would become a defining career in home automation.
With over 23 years in the industry, Stephen has led on some of Scotland’s most prestigious home automation projects. His portfolio spans stately homes, castles, Georgian townhouses, rural farmhouses, luxury penthouses, Spanish villas and modern housing estates. His clients include business leaders, sports personalities, entrepreneurs, landowners and academics, each seeking bespoke, future-proof smart home solutions.
