KNX

KNX is the world’s only open standard for intelligent buildings (ISO/IEC 14543-3), KNX has been in existence for more than twenty years and offers an array of over 10000 KNX Association-approved products manufactured by around 300 suppliers.

This means that the system integrator can design an installation to meet the needs of the building and the end-user and is not confined to a single proprietary system.

Using technology with an easy-to-operate user interface, KNX intelligent systems offer simple visualisation, monitoring and control, creating buildings that are both comfortable and energy efficient.

URC

At IDES we have over 20 years’ experience delivering fully bespoke URC TOTAL CONTROL systems integrated with KNX, an open protocol system, offering over 10,000 certified products from 500 suppliers.

KNX is the only worldwide open and future-proof standard for Home and Building Automation offering market leading performance and security. KNX thinks in building blocks. We call it modular system technology. The big advantage: network and home automation can be expanded and rebuilt at any time.

For small or large projects, renovation, or new buildings. KNX always has the best customised products and ensures the most efficient solution for an unsurpassed experience.

CRESTRON

A Crestron Control System is used  to simplify operation and provide a single user interface to operate multiple devices and interface with other control systems such as KNX, BACNET, CCTV, Intruder/fire alarms. A typical situation may be Crestron digital media controlling Audio visual and TV/Satellite but also interfacing with the KNX lighting control system and BACNET controlled heating system all from one single point of control, whilst also monitoring the security installations from the same touch screen.

In addition, it can also be configured to set the lighting levels and close electric blinds where the appropriate interfaces are included within the system.

DALI

DALI (digital addressable lighting interface) is a two-way communication system that brings digital technology to Lighting Controls. An international standard for communication, Dali lighting controls defines the commands that ballasts need to recognise in order to be considered DALI ballasts.

The system allows individual ballasts to “talk” to the user … and allows the user to “talk” back via DALI controllers, computers equipped with appropriate software, or building management systems (BMS).

DALI provides simplified communication and installation, yet maximum control and flexibility. Wiring is simpler. Installation costs are lower. What’s more, it allows architects and designers to create high-performance lighting that is perfectly matched to the needs of the building’s occupants.
